Tuna fish is my ten year old pit bull had an amazing time with Maria! We used to go to a dog trainer in Natick, but have had much more success with Ready Dog Training. Maria is a miracle worker. I don’t know quite where our family or dogs would be if we had not had the luck to meet her. She has taken our very large (90+ pound) dog who struggles with significant anxiety and behavioral issues and has turned him into a loving, confident and (mostly) well-behaved gentle giant. When we brought a dog home from the shelter a few years ago, we were eager to get her into a training class. We were lucky to sign up for a basic skills class that Maria was teaching. Maria made the class fun for both the dogs and their owners. She displayed a lot of affection for each dog in the class and made each owner feel that their dog was special. Maria was sensitive to the needs and requests of the owners as well. She was always curious to learn what challenges we were dealing with at home and she was very helpful in finding solutions that were manageable to work on. Maria has an impressive understanding of canine behavior and was eager to apply her knowledge to any issues we were dealing with. I appreciated that after working on skills during class, we received written instructions that were emailed home. This made it easier for me to practice. She teaches using only positive reinforcement, and she finds what motivates each individual dog – food, toys, affection, or a combination. The skills worked on during class really helped us to bond with our dog. When we bought home another new puppy 6 months ago, we were eager to have Maria work with this dog too.
